Welcome to the full year catch-up where I check in with myself to see what was completed, what’s in the process of, and what’s not been done.

I laid out my full year plans to cover all three businesses, and some personal lists. My usual business plans, social mafia, health, and others. My writing plans and to sell & offer. I’ve divided the plans into sections for easier use. My Writing Plans, To Sell & Offer, My Business Plans, and My Other Plans all have multiple sections under them.

So, without further ado, here we go with my plans for the year with green being done, orange in the process of, and red for not done.

 

MY BUSINESS PLANS FOR 2024!

 

Business/Author

– 1 – Buy Adobe Lightroom to make and sell presets. Use first half of year then upload for sale come July.

– 2 – Add my Google audio books to other sale sites via Findaway voices.

– 3 – Mailerlite!!!!!

– 4 – Continue with the local writers’ group.

– 5 – Attend writer’s workshop in February with the writers’ group.

– 6 – Get those reader magnets I need to write done for my newsletter.

– 7 – Continue to catch up with old author courses that I’ve done to try and learn things.

– 8 – Use the information from the online Content, Profile, and Opinion writing courses to write better blog posts, as well as opinion pieces for websites and media.

– 9 – Keep contacting papers, magazines, radio and TV stations for my opinion pieces.

– 10 – Redo paperwork for RSP. Reorganize to be easier and better. (June, July, Aug)

– 11 – Do an online screenwriting course or two????

– 12 – Try and fix the issues with the KDP versions of my Poems series.

– 13 – Find a cover designer for the next novel, do the interior typesetting, and get proofs.

– 14 – Publish Burning Desires in September.

– 15 –  Update LJD stand-alone novels with new author font.

– 16 – Publish TKW Anthologies 7-8 as e-books and print books.

– 17 – Update TKW covers 1-6 and cancel the 5×8 cls to put them under the djs.

As you can see, much is in red, but that’s okay.

Many I wasn’t relying on to get done and you need to have the expectation that during the year, things just won’t happen. That’s how I set it up at the beginning of the year.

I also bought Adobe’s Lightroom, but never had the time to try it, and decided that making presets wasn’t part of what I do, so I let the subscription run out.

 

Considering…

– Do media releases based on the online media release course I did.

– Try Amazon, Bookbub, or Facebook ads.

– Try Amazon’s A+ Content for my book’s Amazon pages. Although this is not highly recommended by authors, many use it.

– Potentially close down Streetlib. This might come at the end of the year after writing about them for my non-fic self-publishing book. Potentially close Pubdrive.

None of this happened and that’s okay.

 

Social Mafia

– 1 – Update the website for Tiara King, and Jewel Divas Style.

– 2 – Blog at both when I feel like it.

– 3 – Continue to post to socials during the week across the board.

– 4 – Change my “Business Break” posts on the blog to “Business Break from socials” on TK social media. No need for it on JDS as I’m posting fortnightly anyway. But sometimes you gotta get off socials for a break, and I’m taking them in the school holidays.

– 5 – Do photos for blog posts.

– 6 – Change how I do my outfit posts. No longer post on JDS, just on JDS socials. Similar to floral outfit from 2023.

More green than red.

I am yet to update the websites with their theme updates, but that’s okay, maybe over the holidays. As for changing to a business break from socials, I completely forgot about that as I was blogging less and only posting a couple of times to each social media a week. Maybe next year I’ll take a week or two out here and there.

 

 

MY OTHER PLANS FOR 2024!

 

Health

– 1 – Continue with the chiro.

– 2 – Get to the dentist to check receding gumline and teeth since I’m turning 50.

– 3 – Use other measures to help my weight issues.

– 4 – Look at other measures to help my nail issues as they’re even worse than they were before.

– 5 – Be off the internet by 10:30, or earlier. Take Friday nights off over winter to veg out in front of the TV and heater. Keep up the Iron and Vit D through winter to stave off lethargy.

– 6 – Get will done!

Finances

– 1 – Save more each fortnight and continue to keep the credit card to a monthly limit.

 

Fashion/Jewellery

– 1 – Try and find the pieces I need for my personal collection.

– 2 – Continue with repairs as they come to hand.

– 3 – Get batteries for all of my watches.

Done and done!

 

Other Goals… which should be simple, right?

– 1 – Finish off my smaller book collections. Trixie Belden, Dana Girls, Susan Sand, Connie Blair, Kay Tracey, Linda Craig, Hardy Boys, MSW.

– 2 – Finish of my Swatch collection.

– 3 – Finish off my Caboodle and Sassaby collections.

– 4 – Redo Nancy paperwork to simplify and make it easier.

Yeah, conversion rates between the US and Aus sucks and is the main factor I can’t afford to get the collections completed faster.

A bit of all colours here.

I sat down and had a long hard think about this list in June and realised, that some things weren’t going to work and were crossed off completely, some weren’t appropriate, and others were indeed doable. Planners were updated, and several stories written to serve as newsletter giveaways which will all come in 2025. And then came September when I had another crazy idea for some of these things and that’s already happened. Stay tuned until next year.

A fair bit of red and green on this list.

In June when I sat down and started to figure out what I was doing with all of these ideas, I realised some were still too big of a job, like the series under T.K. Wrathbone and Tiara King, so I went with the smaller works. An L.J. Diva novel was moved to 2025, along with its sequel so I could concentrate on the books pulling at my brain, and I added several more novel ideas to the list under L.J. Diva. Many series will be moved to the 2025 to-do list, and others have been put on the back burner. Maybe not permanently, but for now so I can try and write as much as possible.

I also realised, my brain wasn’t into writing anything under the T.K. Wrathbone name this year, so no stories there, even the ones I need to finish off. When I had a chat with myself, I realised I wanted to just concentrate on novels at the moment, to try and get as many written as possible. Maybe once they’re done, I’ll get back into concentrating on TKW stories and they’ll all pour out.

As for the Christmas break…I’ll try and get as much done as possible, as usual, leaving an actual break for the week of Christmas and New Year to have off. I’ll probably type up the novellas and novels I wrote, get into writing some more poems and songs, maybe some more essays and opinion pieces. I’m also considering two online courses before heading back to the writers’ group in February.

You never know.
