It’s the ninth anniversary of the passing of Jackie Collins, and during the last year, I’ve bought a few more items to fill up my JC collection.
I bought the The World Is Full Of Married Men album, and matching single. The album is a double and opens out with images from the movie, just one of Jackie’s books that was turned into a cinematic vision.
The Yesterday’s Hero album is from the movie of the same name. Written by Jackie, her stand alone screenplay was turned into a movie featuring Ian McShane and Suzanne Summers.
I bought this incredible silver and diamonte lightning jewellry set from her early ’90s TV Shopping Channel jewellery and homewares collection.
I also managed to get my hands on this 6cm pendant, a bit of a convoluted story there, and paid way too much for it even though it was the only one I’d ever seen. A week after I finally got it, another came up for sale on eBay and was far cheaper. Yipes! There are also matching earrings, so I’m on the lookout.
I managed to get this Egyptian set just last month. It also comes with a ring, but it’s not something I need to complete it.
I found the proof of Sunday Simmons and Charlie Brick, and the ARC of Thrill, here in Australia and managed to get them for $20 each off eBay. The interior of Thrill has an image of Jackie and a thank you for her fans.
And finally, the 40th anniversary edition of Hollywood Wives reprinted in 2023. Bright pink and yellow, Jackie’s daughters told the publisher the one thing it needs to be is a reflection of the original and multiple reprints since.
That’s it for my current buying spree. I hope to add more over the next year and hope something is done for the tenth anniversary of her passing.
