What anniversary could I possibly be talking about?

The 10th anniversary of me self-publishing…

WOOHOO!

That’s right. It’s ten years this month since I first signed up to Smashwords, a book website where you can sell your e-books to voracious readers.

The exact date is the 13th, so twelve days from now.

It was ten years last month since I first found out about self-publishing, and now it’s ten years since my first step into something that would take ten years of my life.

A little back story: I wrote my first novel, The Road To Vegas in 2006, the second (at that time called How I Won Lotto, Moved to L.A. & Married A Really Huge TV Star!) and now called Hollywood Dreams, in 2008. In November 2010 I wrote my third novel (then called Life And Death Adventures in London) now called Falling for London, and that’s when I received the call. Yes, THE CALL, the call from a publishing house wanting Lotto. But after much thinking, and crying, and decision making, I decided to say no. So, in 2011, I found a blog post by an American agent I was following about Amanda Hocking who was massive in self-publishing. Via her I found Joe Konrath and the rest is history. I’ve been self-publishing ever since. And in 2017 I set up my own publishing house, Royal Star Publishing, to deal with all of the novels, novellas, non-fictions and stories I write and release.

So, back to now. It’s now ten years this month since I took my publishing career into my own hands, and my ten year anniversary.

They say people find success after 10,000 hours or the equivalent of ten years, don’t they?

Now, onto other things…

 

Let’s get into what I achieved in February from the list of things to get done…

 

– 1 – A mailing list for my books and a newsletter for the website.

– 2 – Get the second round of proofs and then set them up for release.

– 3 – Get March’s blog post done.

 

Well, as you can see, there was great success…

 

Now let’s launch into what I want to get done in March…

 

– 1 – Write a short story as a reader magnet for my mailing list, AND get my mailing list done.

– 2 – RELEASE MY HARDCOVERS AND LARGE PRINTS TO THE WORLD!

– 3 – Get April’s blog post done.

 

As you can see by #2 it’s in the works today! I’m releasing my hardcovers and large prints this month.

WOOHOO!

Yes, that’s right, the hardcovers for the Porn Star Brothers series, albeit And Always which may be a little late, and the hardcovers and large print paperbacks for my four stand-alone novels, are all being released on the 19th of March, with pre-orders up today on Amazon and all other bookstores.

In celebration of this momentous occasion, I have asked my publishing house, which is me, to lower the trade paperback prices for America, Canada, Europe and the rest of the globe, so they are more accessible and reasonably priced. All of the trade paperbacks are $10 more than the e-book version, the large prints are $5 more than the trade, and the hardcovers are $10 more than the trade. So the prices are, for example, $5.99, $15.99, $19.99 and $25.99. For Australia, the e-books are the same price as everywhere else, but the print books will still be at the RRP set for Aus pricing standards as they include GST.

That will basically be all for this year. While I’d love to get a novel written and released, and maybe other novels written, I’m not about to promise it to myself. I’ll see how things go on their own and concentrate on what does need to be done. So outside of the hardcovers and large prints, there will be no new releases this year. So far…
