Tiara King, as in this website, has had another overhaul. A small one, but mighty in so many ways.
This has been a long time in the making. Probably fifteen years, since I first started on social media in 2009.
I’ve often kept coming back to, “If I knew then what I know now”. That strange twist of the mind that nags at a memory, or a thought, and flies past whenever it feels like, but it’s so fast you just can’t snatch it and hold it tight so you can write it down, or think more upon it.
And if I did know then, in 2009, what I know now in 2023, then everything would have started here, on the one website, under my own name.
And so, I’ve decided that’s what’s going to happen!
I’ll explain. It’s a long one. You might want a cup of tea, or a sandwich, or something.
On January 1st 2009, I started the original website for my first author name of Jewels Diva, which changed to Lady Jewels Diva in 2012, and finally L.J. Diva in 2016. It didn’t occur to me to set up a website under my own name. I wanted anonymity. I wanted my author name to have a chance to grow on its own. Just as with my next business.
Also in 2009, I set up my jewellery business, Jewel Divas, and style blog, Jewel Divas Jewellery which was changed to Jewel Divas Style in 2012. I wanted it kept separate from my writing, I wanted it to grow into a powerhouse on its own.
I wanted both businesses to grow into their own…
But, instead, I grew…
In 2010, I set up the first incarnation of Tiara King. It was remade in 2021.
In 2015, I set up my second author name of T.K. Wrathbone. It was remade in 2021.
In 2017, I turned on the websites for ljdiva.com, pornstarbrothers.com, and royalstarpublishing.com.au.
In January 2019, I celebrated ten years of blogging on L.J. Diva by choosing to combine both the blog and the website into ljdiva.com. The posts were migrated over from Blogger to WordPress and one website and business were formed.
In January 2021, I closed the website for the Porn Star Brothers book series and moved everything over to the L.J. Diva website.
In 2022, I officially closed Jewel Divas, reverted it back to a jewellery label, and shut down all of its social media accounts.
I closed the Pinterest and Twitter accounts of L.J. Diva and T.K. Wrathbone on January 31st. The Instagram and Facebook pages went silent and private. Followers were redirected here to Tiara King, or to Royal Star Publishing, or Jewel Divas Style.
And now, in 2023, not only did I stupidly set up new Twitter accounts for those two author names, which I’ve now deactivated as I don’t use them and didn’t want them (I set them back up to get my name, but, in reality, that’s of no actual consequence), and I’ve deactivated both Instagram accounts.
I made the decision to continue my plans from 2021, when I decided it was time to corral all of my socials and websites under my name and my publishing house name. I’ve had so many social accounts over the last fifteen years. At one point we were told to have our name on as many social media sites as possible and I had over one hundred. It’s overbearingly exhausting, and eventually you cut it down to the ones you actually want. But there’s a time and place for those, and even they need to go sometimes.
So, here’s what’s happening.
As you can see, since you’re reading this, I’ve set up the blog here and had 387 posts from L.J. Diva migrated over. They’re all posts about authors, business, legalities, and anything to do with writing, publishing, and my books. All of the fun posts went to my style site, Jewel Divas Style.
Instead of migrating 80 or so posts from T.K. Wrathbone, I copied/pasted them here in March, along with many book/business posts from JDS. There was no need to migrate TKW posts to JDS, so that saved on time.
The posts from both sites had been cut and culled in order to be migrated for closure to happen. But not all of the original posts have come over from LJD. At one point, I would’ve had nearly 3,000 after fifteen years, but they were deleted over the last few years as they no longer attuned to my way of thought, and where I wanted to go on this journey. Ugh, I hate that word! Where I wanted to go on this business trip! How about that, instead? This Business Trip!
As of now, all posts that were migrated before this one will stay as is. There may be some wacky formatting, having gone through two migrations from Blogger to WordPress to WordPress, but they’ll show what I posted at L.J. Diva. As mentioned, T.K. Wrathbone and Jewel Divas Style posts were copied in, so they’re fine. Plus, many of the old blog pictures have been sorted through, cleaned up, and better ones made.
In future, I’ll be posting here about my books under all three names, plus more business posts, bits and pieces, and author insights and musings. Of which there are many, so stay tuned for many a blog post on its way. But in general, I’ll be slowing down with posting come 2024 and beyond. I’ll be moving my normal yearly plan posts to TK from JDS, so JDS can become more focused on the other types of posts I make, such as Nancy Drew, jewellery, fashion, book reviews, what I buy, what I wear, and so much more. And, Jewel Divas Style has also had a very mighty makeover for her future moving forward.
To get to any of my author names, you can click on the category links on the homepage, at the top of the blog page, or in the side bar. All L.J. Diva posts have been categorised by that name, the same with T.K. Wrathbone, and Tiara King posts. All other categories have their own labels, which you can see in the side bar.
All book posts have been labelled under each author name, but if you don’t want to see blog posts about the books, then click on the author pages in the top right menu bar to see each author name page and a list of books, or click on the bookstore link in the top left menu and it will take you to the Royal Star Publishing website.
The plan is to close down the LJD and TKW websites on September 19th of this year. I’ll then redirect the urls to their pages on this site. All of the book related pages I set up from both sites here in Feb/March, are live for your viewing pleasure, especially the HOT MEN page under L.J. Diva in the right menu.
Hence, corralling all of my pen names into one, and my social media into as less as possible.
For those who are intrigued why that date. It’s the eighth anniversary of the passing of Jackie Collins. Since I’m not publishing on that date this year, (I’ve been publishing for nine years straight and writing for eleven) I’ll close down on that day instead.
Royal Star Publishing has received its own makeover, and will take the full brunt of publishing. Which also means, posting more about all three author names to social media.
In the event that something else changes, like closing JDS, then all of those blog posts will be cleaned out and migrated over here as well.
That would be an absolutely massive job!!!
Yes, that was something I considered in late 2021 and mentioned in my Changes post from Feb 2022. My original plan, when trying to come up with one that best suited me in late 21, ranged from light and easy to fucking batshit crazy nuclear. I spoke more of it this year in the 2023 Changes post.
Here’s a basic breakdown of what I was considering in 2021.
1 – Close smaller social sites and extras not used, and consider which ones to close down next. Which I did.
2 – Close Jewel Divas and its social accounts, plus half the TKW and LJD social accounts. Which I did.
3 – Roll LJD and TKW into TK and close all LJD/TKW social accounts. Which I did.
4 – Roll all three, TKW/LJD/JDS, into TK and just have the one website/blog along with RSP. Batshit nuclear method!!!! Obviously, I didn’t do this, and won’t at this point.
My posting to social mafia has also changed slightly. For me, I start at TikTok/Instagram, have that sent through to Facebook, post to Twitter, and then, post them to Pinterest or YouTube as well. And, in moving forward, I’ll be talking more about me, being a carer, my writing, my jewellery, my books, and stuff that interests me. Essentially, combining JDS with TK on TikTok, instead of setting up more JDS everywhere which I don’t need.
I’ve also joined Hive as myself and RSP, and Clapper as myself to claim my names, but am yet to post, adding even more social mafia to the list.
Back to the age-old phrase, if I knew then what I know now, things would have been done so differently. Although, things may not be what they are now, also. So, here’s to a new future of streamlining and culling, cutting and corralling, websites, social mafia, and my life.
Stay tuned for some interesting posts to come…
