When you decide to self-publish your book doesn’t just stay on that site, you know.
If you publish with Smashwords it’s then distributed through to iBook, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Scribd and the list goes on.
When you print publish with Amazon, your book, if you have the right sized book and pick expanded distribution, goes through to thousands of places. Not only online stores, but some bricks and mortar and libraries.
Here are just some of the stores I have found my books at.
Australia – BookWorld and Angus & Robertson (both owned by Pearson Group), Booktopia, The Nile, Bookfari and Better Read Than Dead.
New Zealand – Fishpond and Mighty Ape. These stores also have Aussie version.
America – Powell’s, Books A Million, Alibris.
England – Foyles, AbeBooks, Book Depository.
Canada – McNally Robinson.
Korea – Kyobo.
Hong Kong – PaddyField Bookstore.
South Africa – RedPepper Books.
KDP also use Ingram Content Group for distribution so there are even more places for your books to be at.
While KDP cannot tell you how many they distribute to, you can go to Get Textbooks and use your ISBN to track the places your books are selling at. It’s actually very weird to see some of the places your books sell on.
